CANOE CREW PERSONNEL

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The canoe crew work under the direction of the General Manager and Trip Leaders. The role of the canoe crew is to supervise, instruct, and to ensure the safety of our guests down the Delaware River ranging from Class l - Class 2. Strong interpersonal skills are necessary. No previous white water skills needed.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:

  1. Interact with guests and co-workers
  2. Prepare all necessary equipment for river trips
  3. Assist guests with safety equipment
  4. Communicate appropriately with guests and co-workers
  5. Carry out any and all duties assigned by the Manager
  6. Load and transport boats/rafts
  7. Perform safety talks and pre-trip inspection

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Ability to make appropriate decisions during stressful or crisis situations
  2. Strong interpersonal skills
  3. Have a love for the river

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. CPR certification
  2. Ability to successfully swim through all rapids
  3. Current drivers license
  4. Good physical condition

OFFICE PERSONNEL

JOB SUMMARY:
The office personnel work under the direction of the Office Manager. Their role is to answer the phone, sell and reserve river trips and motel rooms, interact with customers in person, file confirmations, assist in finance handling, and to operate radio communications.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:

  1. Answers the phone, sells and reserves river trips, bike trips, motel rooms, and campgrounds
  2. Processes credit card payments, processes requests for information, processes reservations, and records messages for supervisory personnel
  3. Interacts with customers that come into the office
  4. Files confirmations in appropriate order and in correct payment files
  5. Maintain level of office supplies
  6. Performs the direct mailing
  7. Opens and closes office following standard procedures
  8. Respond to email requests
  9. Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Ability to express ideas clearly both in written and oral communications
  2. Knowledge of computer programs such as MW Word, Excel, etc
  3. Knowledge of general office procedures
  4. Ability to stay focused and organized under pressure
  5. Excellent phone skills (informative and courteous.)

CONTRACT WRITER/CHECK-IN ATTENDANT

JOB SUMMARY:
The contract writer/check in personnel works under the direction of the Campground Manager and General Manager. Their role is to interact with guests upon checking in for trip, answer guest questions, review release forms for completeness, sell and reserve river trips and motel rooms, rent wet suits, accompany guests to launching area, sell related souvenirs after the guests return from river trips, maintain accuracy of register, and open/ close check in area.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:

  1. Interacts with guests upon checking in for trip, answers guest questions about their trip, reviews release forms for completeness
  2. Sells and reserves river trips to guests who walk in without reservations, processes payment for these reservations
  3. Rents wet suits and completes appropriate wet suit forms
  4. Accompanies guests to the launching area
  5. Sells related souvenirs after the guests return from rafting
  6. Maintains satisfactory inventory level and completes appropriate paperwork
  7. Recounts moneybags and sales drawer for accuracy
  8. Opens and closes check in area
  9. Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Ability to express ideas clearly both in written and oral communications
  2. Knowledge of cash registers
  3. Ability to stay focused and organized under pressure
  4. Knowledge of retail sales helpful
  5. Ability to sell

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Current drivers license

JOB SUMMARY:
The Retail Sales Clerk works under the direction of the Office Manager and General Manager. Their role is to interact with guests that visit the shop, answer questions about our organization, assist guests in finding sizes and styles of t-shirts, sell related souvenirs, rent bicycles and complete appropriate forms, maintain satisfactory inventory level and completes appropriate paperwork, maintains accuracy of register, tags new merchandise upon arrival, opens and closes the shop.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:

  1. Interacts with guests that visit the shop, answers guests questions about our organization
  2. Sells related souvenirs and assists guests in finding sizes and styles of t-shirts
  3. Rents bicycle and completes appropriate forms
  4. Maintains satisfactory inventory level and completes appropriate paperwork
  5. Recounts moneybags and sales drawer for accuracy
  6. Tags new merchandise upon arrival
  7. Opens and closes t-shirt shop
  8. Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL

JOB SUMMARY:
The maintenance personnel works under the general manger. Their role is to maintain the equipment running the operation and to fix equipment that needs it.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:

  1. Check in with the General Manager on a regular basis to prioritize projects
  2. Repair equipment and facilities as needed
  3. Maintain equipment and facilities

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Carpentry skills
  2. Plumbing skills
  3. Mechanical thinking skills
  4. Ability to assess a situation to find the best plan of action, then follow through

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Current divers license
  2. Basic maintenance knowledge and skills
  3. Motivation
