husband, Bob, started the company, with 10 canoes. She has
been here since the beginning and is proud to see the
company grow to hold 1180 canoes, 250 rafts, and 123
kayaks. Joan is the mother of three and grandmother of
eight. She is also the proud mother of 1 dog and a
parakeet. Her favorite things to do are babysitting and
enjoying a nice evening at home watching a great show on
TV. She is famous in the office for bringing in the Double
Stuffed Oreos and other goodies that keep the staff "well
nourished." |

Rick:
Rick is the current owner and chief manager of Landers
River Trips and the Ten Mile Motel Ent; His father Bob
started the business in 1954. Upon returning to the Upper
Delaware area after college, Rick started right in to the
business with his father. When his father passed away,
Rick became the owner and continued his father's legacy
with a freshness that helped the business grow even more.
He is happily married with four children. Rick and his
wife Lisa keep busy going to the kids soccer games,
gymnastic meets, and softball games. He is also active on
the school board and is a volunteer for the fire and
ambulance squads. Rick was the town and county supervisor
for 7 years. When he does get some free time, he likes to
go fishing, hunting, and of course, canoeing, kayaking,
and rafting. When asked what the most exciting part of
running Landers River Trips is for him, he replied, " I
love to see groups have a good time. Then they come back
year after year, and it's like they are a part of the
summer season for us." |
